Overall, the past 2 months have been crazy good, and crazy bad. I’ll start with the bad.
We lost all but one of the kittens in the first week they were born. The vet said it must have been something wrong with them physiologically for them to die suddenly like that in the first week. I was pretty upset, but we do have one super trooper survivor. The runt of the litter made it, and then survived a horrific boil/sore on one arm to be alive, well, and full of super kitten powers. Since she got so lucky, we named her Clover.
Then, this past weekend we lost our oldest cat Frisco. He was Bill’s cat, and a gift from his ex that he got for christmas years and years ago. He was around 18 years old and it looks like his poor body just gave out. Luckily, he didn’t suffer at all, as he had been up and around, eating, drinking, and pooping the day he died. We found him early on in the evening and we thought he was asleep till we went to move him and yeah.
Then to top it all off we also lost Austin this week. Turns out not many vets even know much about rabbit health. All we know is his eyes got crusty, and despite cleaning them out continued to be gunky and then when we went out to go to work Monday he had passed overnight. Really, the past week just hasn’t been good for us. First Frisco and then Austin.
On the good side…
We’ve been super busy with family and birthdays. First was Bill’s birthday on the 20th of June. We didn’t do much, just hung out at home because we had to work, etc. That weekend though we spent at his aunt’s house for his uncle’s 60th birthday. It was cool getting to see lots of family and hang out and not be the one cooking, cleaning, etc.
The next weekend my family from Arizona was in town and they came over for us to BBQ for them on saturday. It was awesome getting to see my Aunt Linda, Uncle Bud, Cousin Michelle, and to meet her son Xander.
Then the very next weekend we had Bill’s family reunion. His Mom’s family all live here and in Pennsylvania, so every year around his grandma’s birthday they all gather and spend the day together. This was alot of the same family we saw the weekend before last, plus the PA family, so it was alot of fun again. We spent the day talking, showing pictures, etc, and then some of the night singing while his cousin or his uncle played guitar.
Then the very next morning we woke up and everyone met at his other Aunt’s house for breakfast before the PA people went home. We waffled about going because we hadn’t left the night before until almost midnight and had had to take both my MIL and my brother home, but we ended up getting up and heading out. Not like we had anything better to do.
And that brings us up to now. We can sit down, breathe, and relax for the next few weekends. Well, kind of. We’re running a garage sale this coming weekend, and we always seem to find things to do.
Oh, we also added to our menagerie in May. We bought 5 pullets from a family in Canton for the fresh eggs. I’m going to post about “the ladies” in their very own post though. Until then, a picture!

So, I’ve been busy. With cuteness. See, I deal with this level of cuteness on a daily basis:
Or we have this:
Then, one day (today) you come home from work and find this:
(Mind you, we knew this was coming and had setup her birthing area the night before so it wasn’t a total surprise this time)
And then your heart melts at the cuteness and really, there isn’t anything else you can do but spend time with it. We now have a healthy new litter of 5 kittens. We’re calling it Zedd’s last ride (he got neutered probably the day after these munchkins were conceived due to temperament issues). Looks like 3 calico’s, and 2 black and white tuxedo kittens. 2 are also polydactyl, one calico and one tuxedo cat have extra toe’s.

So last week I mentioned that we were throwing Bill’s new tower together. Which we did, and this weekend we got the HDD and operating system crap figured out. The tower itself was a bonus Bill got from his new job, which in itself is awesome. All he’d done is mention in passing to his boss that he was planning on building a tower for himself for his birthday and his boss asked him how much that would cost. He said somewhere around $500-700 and his boss told him when he had his shopping cart put together to send him the link and he would buy it for him for all the awesome work he has been doing. So he did a couple weeks later and his boss bought it for him.
So we spent last Tuesday night putting his new tower together and it was pretty fun to watch. It’s the first time I have watched one put together from scratch so I thought it was interesting. I even took some pictures of the process:

So I failed to blog everyday in April, not that I am overly shocked by that, but oh well. Yesterday was just terrible, and all I wanted to do was sleep once I got home, or watch tv, or anything not involving a computer.
I spent hours yesterday on the network at work, without really fixing anything outside of getting the internet working in the building again. Tomorrow Bill and I are heading in early to get the print server and the server connected back to everything and to get the static IP situation figured out with AT&T.
Today was nice at least. Been working on getting ready to put products up on Amazon for work, and the weather was fantastic, so I spent my breaks outside at the picnic table basking in the sun. One thing I really love about this job is that I’m doing different things everyday outside of printing eBay orders and getting them packaged and ready for mail pickup. I work on newsletters, our decrepit old website (think a greymatter style shopping cart system), craigslist stuff, amazon stuff, tech issues in general, etc. I’m also working on finding new solutions to things like our website, our inventory system, marketing ads, you name it. Everyday is a mixed bag and it makes it alot of fun for me.
But, I think I am back in the swing of blogging. I actually think of things to blog about again, and it’s nice to not feel so blah about it.
So yeah, I failed, but I don’t think I totally failed. I got the push I needed. Thats what really counts in the end.
Outside of fixing the network at work tomorrow I don’t think Bill and I have any weekend plans outside of cleaning, going to the gym, and relaxing. Anyone have an exciting week at work, or fun plans this weekend?

Not much happening around here tonight. We have our old roommate Robert and his new girlfriend over. Bill got his tower order in at work today, so him and Robert are in the dining room putting his new pc together. I’m sitting in the living room, on the laptop, watching the season premiere of Deadliest Catch and playing with kittens.
Though I can’t wait for the tower to be done and started. Bill put together a beast of a box, as it was a bonus from his boss at work for the awesome job he’s been doing recently. I’ll make sure to post pictures I’ve taken and his parts list when it’s done. It’s gonna be awesome and we’re probably going to be building me a new rig in a couple months as well!

An exchange Bill and I had whilst doing laundry at the laundromat this evening:
Me: It’s nice having all the laundry done for once.
Bill: Yeah, it’s kind of like raid night. We have it on farm.
Me: Yeah. And we got lots of loot.
Bill: (pointing at the folded pants) Look at all those legs.
Me: (pointing at the hung up shirts) And all those chest pieces.
Yeah… we are that level of dork.

So after having a miserable start to Spring that has included snow in April, today was the first day it has truly felt like Spring here. To top it off, we even had a daffodil finally sprout out in our front yard. I’m so excited! We also fired up the grill tonight for the first time since the fall and had burgers and hot dogs. Now I just have to hope this non-frigid cold temperatures thing keeps up, because I’m sick of it.

I’m exhausted from working a 12+ hour day today, so I shall simply post a picture I got with my phone while outside on a quick break today. We went to the MidOhio Tartan Day celebration as a vendor. It was really cool, I got to listen to bagpipes and watch Scottish highlands dancers all day and one of the outdoor shows they had besides the sporting events was a herding demonstration. These are the sheep the border collies were herding.
